We are grief-stricken to announce that our beloved colleague and friend, Dr. Caitlin Nussbaum, died unexpectedly this week.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Tim, her two sons, family, friends, colleagues, staff, and patients.
Caitlin had deep roots in this metro area, being born in Washington, DC, and growing up in Maryland. She graduated from Wake Forrest before returning to DC to complete a masters degree at Georgetown, and her medical degree at George Washington University.
During her residency in Pediatrics at Inova Fairfax, Caitlin had her continuity clinic at Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, and we were delighted that she joined the practice after graduation in 2014.
Over the past six years she impressed both patients and staff with her clinical acumen, her genuine love of children, her humility, and her unerring thoughtfulness.
Our hearts break at her passing. There will be a celebration of her life sometime in the upcoming months. Donations can be made in her memory to Child and Family Network Centers in Alexandria. Any notes of remembrance for her husband and sons may be sent to Pediatric Associates of Alexandria.
